Caring For Your New Tattoo
Tattoo Aftercare Tips.
One thing will ruin a new tattoo quicker than anything, and that's getting into a bath with it!
Seriously, bath water is a killer.
It will draw out the ink, leaving it patchy and faded, and its the best way to get an infection in it too.
Whilst your tattoo is healing, stick to showers!
Sunbathing and swimming are best left til later as well.
You have to remember that basically a tattoo is an open wound when it is healing, and treat it as such.
If it gets itchy and scabs over, it means you have an infection in it. You should only ever get a light peeling, a bit light mild suunburn.
If you do get an attack of the scabs, the best thing we have found to do is use a decent antiseptic cream or liquid until it clears.
Never pick the scabs off!!! Yes, we know its tempting, but try and resist!
Picking it results in great big lumps coming out, which in turn results in you having to go back to your tattooist for them to touch it up.
While it heals, we recommend that you use a cream.
Apply it about 3 times a day and you will be healed in no time.
We have found a certain brand of nappy rash cream is superb for tattoos.........
